Thanks to a nomination from Walsh Accountant’s Robyne Dole, our client Amy Degenhart has recently been recognised as a Finalist in the Innovation and Technology category of the Gold Coast Women in Business Awards.
This is the latest in a string of accolades Amy has collected in recognition of her pioneering micro-lot housing project ENVI Micro Urban Village. The Southport project has received widespread media attention for its innovative approach to development – one that combines high density with meticulous design to achieve more affordable, sustainable and appealing housing outcomes for both buyers and the local community.
While the numerous awards ENVI has received – from the Urban Design Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects, Good Design Australia, and more – are impressive, more impressive is the fact that it has proven that housing can be both desirable and affordable, with 7 out of its 9 buyers being first homeowners.
Now, through her newly founded family development company Bubbl Up, Amy is working on applying this innovative approach elsewhere.
A mixed-use micro-lot project HIVE is already currently under construction in Fitzgibbon Chase, and a second small-lot urban village is readying for launch as HOLM in Slacks Creek as part of the Queensland Government’s Better Neighbourhoods Logan initiative.
Amy’s commitment to using her development model to create change in the housing industry has led to her recent induction as a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, in addition to winning the 2020 Gold Coast Award for Urban Design Leadership and being named as a Finalist for the 2020 Women in Design Award from Good Design Australia.
Amy has said “I couldn’t have received this particular recognition from the Women in Business Awards without the support of my Walsh Accountant – thank you Robyne!”
Congratulations to you Amy.
Since 2016 we have nominated multiple women for these awards – including our very own Rachael Keuning who won The Futurist award in 2017. This year, we nominated our client, Amy Degenhart, Director of Degenhart Shedd Architecture and Urban Design, who was successfully announced a finalist in the Innovation and Technology category.
If you would like to learn more about these awards, please do not hesitate to contact Donna Bruce to discuss.
