Intermediate Accountant
Full-time | In-house | Gold Coast
We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team at Walsh Accountants. This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys hands-on processing work and wants to continue developing their technical skills in a supportive, social environment.
You’ll be working closely with a Manager, focusing on the preparation of accounting and compliance work for a diverse client base. This is a great opportunity for an accountant who is building their career and has commenced (or is looking to commence) their CA or CPA.
About the role
As an Intermediate Accountant, your role will primarily focus on processing and preparation work. You won’t be expected to review work or lead staff at this stage — instead, you’ll be supported to strengthen your technical foundations and progress your career over time.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of BAS and IAS
- Preparation of financial statements
- Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
- Accounting file maintenance and reconciliations
- Use of cloud-based accounting and document management software
- Liaising internally with Managers and the wider team to meet deadlines
About you
- 2–4 years’ experience in public practice accounting
- Degree qualified in Accounting
- CA or CPA commenced (or intention to commence) is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a processing-focused role
- Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to a positive workplace culture
Software experience
Experience with the following is highly regarded:
- Xero
- FYI
- BGL
