Successful Infrastructure
Grant Application
A consortium of investors approached Walsh Accountants to prepare an infrastructure grant application to the Qld Government. The purpose of the grant was to assist with funding technological advancements to ensure a reliable water supply for irrigation on parts of the Darling Downs. We were able to secure funding of $1,500,000 for the client.
Restructure & Succession Planning for Family Farming Business
We were engaged to complete an Estate Tax Return on behalf of a family that owned and operated a number of primary producer farms. As well as assisting with completion of the returns we were able to identify the opportunity to restructure the family business into business units; that not only separated different risk areas but also ensured profits flowed in the most tax effective manner to the appropriate family members. The family were able to access all the Small business CGT concessions to ensure the restructure was completed with minimal tax consequences.
Tax Minimisation Strategies using Primary Production concessions
We have prepared returns for numerous eligible clients ensuring they access the specific PP taxation concessions such as averaging provisions, farm management deposits, accounting for forced disposals, accelerated depreciation provisions etc. to minimise taxation liabilities.
