The Gold Coast Women in Business awards was held on Friday 18th October at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre
A powerful platform for Women in Business
During the ceremony, awards Executive Director and event Emcee Karen Phillips memorably said “You can’t be what you can’t see” a sentiment we wholeheartedly agree with. Not only do these awards recognise and reward experienced business women, but they also give young and up and coming entrepreneurs the platform, confidence, and connections to take that next step in growing their business.
Each year the stories and experiences that are shared continue to be more impressive; and we come away more inspired and excited about what the Gold Coast has to offer. We heard from the winner of the 2018 Women in Business award Cheryl Stewart from Morlife who spoke of her journey over the past 12 months which included which included collaborating with Ashy Bines, branching into new markets in the middle east and shipping more than 40 tonnes of products overseas, launching the Morlife Collagen Pantry range, and continuing to develop and support her team!
We also heard how Cheryl has gone on to help Alana Beattie Director of Coffee Roasters and winner of the 2015 Gold Coast Women in Business Award. Cheryl gave Alana access to her factory so she could develop and launch her new product – Podbiotic® – the world’s first Nespresso-compatible coffee-plus-probiotic capsule!
This is just one example of the transformational connections that are formed as a result of these awards!
We at Walsh Accountants hope that by supporting the awards we can in some way be part of that journey and give women business owners on the Coast the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We look forward to meeting more inspiration women as we support these awards for many years to come.
Since 2016 we have nominated multiple women for these awards – including our very own Rachael Keuning who won The Futurist award in 2017. If you would like to know more about these awards, please do not hesitate to contact Donna Bruce or Rachael to discuss.
