On 8 March 2021, we would like to wish all the amazing women in our lives a Happy International Womenās Day!
Today is a day for reflection, recognition, and celebration – and with such an amazing group of women within our team, we have a lot to celebrate!
The theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is to help forge a gender equal world by celebrating womenās achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality.
The Accounting profession has been known to be a male dominated industry – particular at partner level. Walsh Accountants is a three partner firm with Donna Bruce becoming a Director in 2017. With a focus on professional development, Donna supports and encourages every person in our team providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, and career development.
As a progressive firm, Walsh Accountants has a long standing commitment to gender diversity; building our team to include a very strong group of female professionals who are dedicated to providing the best support and service to our clients and our team. We are breaking down the barriers for women to move into leadership roles with our leadership and management teams having a minimum 50% female representation.
We are also committed to championing female entrepreneurship through our specialist Women in Business division, and our commitment to sponsoring the Gold Coast Women in Business Awards not only nominating women for awards each year but also donating our time and services to support every women that has been recognised as an Awardee of Merit every year since we became involved with the awards in 2016.
It has been said that any workplace that fails to harness the energy and creativity of its women is at a huge disadvantage in the modern world – we couldn’t agree more. Whilst change can be hard; with time, dedication, and commitment, it’s not impossible. We would like to take this day to encourage all business owners to recognise the achievements of their female employees and to aim towards growing their businesses to employ, support, and encourage women.
