A number of Gold Coasters are amongst the Australians given Queen’s Birthday Honours today.
A total of 933 Australians have been recognised, with 710 receiving awards in the General Division of the Order of Australia, 28 in the Military Division and 128 meritorious awards.
We would like to acknowledge one awardee in particular ā Perry Cross was recognised for significant service to people living with a spinal chord injury, and as a role model.
The Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation has one main aim, to find a cure for paralysis and Perry works tirelessly towards that goal. Perry has been heralded worldwide as a tremendous role model for the human spirit in overcoming the odds and we are so thrilled for him that he has now been recognised in the Queens Birthday honours.
Finding a cure for paralysis through spinal research is a cause close to the heart of our firm.
Since 2015, Walsh Accountants have been supporting Perry Cross and the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation raising over $20,000 for the foundation through our annual Polo events. Tom Walsh is also recognized as a PCSRF Member.
